About By & Havn
By & Havn is a development and operating company that delivers long-term and holistic urban development and takes responsibility for creating coherent and well-functioning urban districts as Ørestad and Nordhavn.
By & Havn is responsible for the development of parking facilities in the urban areas, and we are responsible for establishing roads and canals, urban spaces and green areas.
Income from By & Havn's activities goes to common goods such as to pay major infrastructure projects in Copenhagen - including the subway as well as urban space, quays, parks and initiatives in the new urban areas.
By & Havn is jointly owned by the City of Copenhagen (95%) and the State (5%) and is operated on a commercial basis. This ownership gives By & Havn a long-term perspective and that way By & Havn ensures that the city does not develop from building site to building site, but to the future - city district for city district.
